Say "Hi" to my homestay partents, who are Doris

(the left) and Doglas( the right).

I have to say, during the 20 weeks, they really

delivered warm care to an international student

(point to me) and provided appropriate living hints

and daily entertainments as well. They've been hasband

and wife for about 40 years and the sign of love-bird has

never left apart from them.

Oooops!

My apologize if the photo above scared you.

( sometimes I do confuse why this

boylish girl would have over-weighted like this.

What a nightmare!!!)

Just a sudden regret to remind that I didn't take any

photos of my bedroom, or I did but accidentially lost

these files. It was really pitty though.

Doris and Doggie  are the classic kind of the elder

in Edinburgh.

Even at the retired age, they don't really retire

of themself, on the contrast, have got some

part-time jobs is what they are really into.

Since their daughter and sons grew up and moved

out to live on their own, and they started to organzise

what soft of life they wanted to keep on.

And turnd out, they decided to assigh for the service

of homestay, gather all the information and filled in

some certain paper works to the register, after all

the documents have been proven by the language

school, they are qualified to recieve international students.

I'm lucky to have them when I stayed in Edinburgh.

Where I stayed  was 20-minute walk from the language school

that is located on Royal Mile. Royal Mile, this age-old road leads

to Edinburgh Castle, on the other side ends with Palace of

Holyroodhouse. And my school is perfectly on the middle of these

two famous and must look attractions.

Well, back to Doris and Doggie, for me, I absolutely loved to

observe( or natually feel) their interaction, trust me, when

they are busy about serveing food for us( I had a japanese roomate

- Yuriko), they both hummed a tone to themselves! Quite cute,

wasn't it? As if they did enjoy what they were doing.

No exception that no one adore this gorgeous baby boy,

he is Brian, a grandson of Doris and Doggie. Look at his

smile, it successfully caught everyone's eyes and woudn't

let go. To be honest, who else was able to resist a smiling

baby like Brian? I was impressed that he also smiled at me

with  the ocean-blue eyes instead of crying or refusing me.

Of course he allow me to hug and kiss him. Generally speaking,

I was so compulsive with an idea that having a baby is a definately

right thing to do for each girl in the world. Not a minute I was

addicted to this lovely baby and thorouthly collasped my strong

mind of no child theory in marrige.

See? Still keep his gorgeous smiling as if he was born with

this charm. I can tell that Doris and Doggie adore him as well,

just by glancing their movements you knew.

They are Brian's partents, you can easily distinguish from

the face and excatly know who is Doris and Doggie's child.

The woman (she was only 5 years older than me, for me I

should call her sis if I was in Taiwan.) Sorry for I cannot

remember their names. They were also really friendly

and shy to see Yuriko and me. ( be aware of people walking

on the streets, not everyone is as friendly as they are.)

My homestay parents told me in private that her girl has

been living with her boyfriend (Brian's father) for 7 years.

Totally 7 years afterwards, came the engagement for another

12 months, eventually, they went to register in the city hall

and got married. Personally, I was astonished when I heard this

story. In Taiwan, I had never met this kind of relationship before,

and I could not be so sure wether my passion toward to my boyfriend

would be faded away or not, or he

would. Next,  I was really envy that after all these years, they still

be together as well as cherish what they own.

The last day before I left to Newcastle, Doggie wore really

formally as if a ceremony was about coming.( He was to deliver

his sincerity to me. I really appreciated it.)

For these 20 weeks I felt living like home because of them.

It was like happpy farewell but weeping tears in the cab.

I gave my best wished to both of them, and hopefully someday,

there's a chance to meet them again.

P.S. just recall the first time i met Doris Doggie was out at

that moment), she just had her hair washed so she couldn't

hear the door rang. I didn't wait for long but after a few of minutes

I saw her opening and door with bubbles and shampoo foam on head.

( because my arrival was too early, and she was about managing her

clean and neat in order to welcome me, that was why she was washed

her head. ^___^)

I really miss them.
